Boddingtons Electrical Drummond Test Lamp
The Drummond Test Lamp is an electrical testing device widely used for checking the presence of voltage in high and low-voltage circuits. Named after its inventor, Drummond, this device has been an essential tool for electricians, particularly in industrial and utility settings

The Drummond MTL20/B is fully GS38 and CAT IV 600v compliant and differs from the standard MTL20 in just one way. The super bright LED voltage level indicators will indicate 50,100 and 200 voltage presence in RED LED’s whilst the 400-volt indication is a bright BLUE lamp. This enables the user to distinctively identify high voltage via the 360-degree illumination cluster, as required by some DNO’s. The MTL20/B comes with both straight and right-angled probes to allow good purchase in some applications and avoid the risk of a probe slipping in the wrong or dangerous direction. Where transient, capacitive, or phantom voltages, often found in the concentric cables supplying the network, are present the MTL20/B allows the user to discharge these voltages via the large RED buttons located on each probe. Depressing both buttons simultaneously in the presence of such voltages will discharge the voltage using the inbuilt loading of the circuit by the tester. This is confirmed by the extinguishing of all LED’s. |
This kit contains the MTL20 voltage indicator and the PD440S proving unit. Supplied in a tailor-made carry case made from heavy denier nylon. It has a clear window for access to test points on the proving unit without the need to remove it from the case. The Drummond MTL20 is fully GS38 and CAT IV 600v compliant. The super bright LED voltage level indicators will indicate 50, 120, 230 & 400V voltage presence in bright red LED’s. The MTL20 is supplied with both straight and right-angled probes to allow good purchase and stability in some applications and avoid the risk of a probe slipping in the wrong or dangerous direction. Where capacitive or phantom voltages, often in long cables running parallel, supplying the network, are present the MTL20 allows the user to discharge these voltages via the large RED buttons located on each probe. Depressing both buttons simultaneously in the presence of such voltages will discharge the voltage using the inbuilt loading of the circuit by the tester. This is confirmed by the extinguishing of all LEDs. The PD440S supplied in this kit has an output voltage of 440V and is ideal for proving both low and high-impedance testers. Over-moulded and tactile this is the next generation of Martindale proving units. It has long battery life and a low battery indicator and is colour-coded for voltage output. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
