The ergonomic shape of the glove and its slightly powdered interior makes it easy the donning and doffing. The natural rubber provides dielectric properties, while our technique and expertise allow us to make gloves as thin as possible in order to offer the maximum level of the dexterity to the users.

Testing

Gloves are tested and certified to EN 60903 and IEC 60903

No gloves of classes 1, 2, 3 and 4, not even those held in storage, should be use unless they have been tested within a maximum period of 6 months. . However they do need testing every six months. The tests should include air inflation to check for leaks (using our pneumatic glove tester), a visual inspection while pressurized and a dielectric test in accordance with EN60903 standards of live working gloves of insulating material.

Mechanical requirements :
- Tensile strength > 16 Mpa

AGEING REQUIREMENTS :
Conditioning of the gloves in an air oven at 70 ± 2 °C during 168 hours :
- The tensile strength and the elongation at break must be at least equal to 80% of non-conditioning gloves. The tension set must not exceed 15%.
- Gloves must pass the proof test voltage and the withstand test voltage.

THERMAL TESTS :
· RESISTANCE TO LOW TEMPERATURE :
Conditioning of gloves for 1 hour at -25 ± 3°C. Tests are satisfactory if no tearing, breaking or cracking after folding is
visible on the cuff and if the gloves pass the proof test voltage and the withstand test voltage.

· FLAME RETARDANCY TEST :
Application of a flame at a finger tips for 10 seconds. Test is satisfactory if, after 55 seconds, the flame has not reached the
marker located 55 mm away at the other end.

PACKING :
Each pair of gloves is packaged in an opaque sachet with a direction of use inside. On the packaging, the following information is given : class, size, categories, type of cuff, length of gloves, test date, manufacture and validation batch numbers. The sachet and instruction for use are certified as part of the PPE and must be kept with the gloves.

EN 60903 - Live working - Electrical insulating gloves

EN 60903:2003 - Gloves and mitts of insulating material for live working, corrected 2004 and 2006.

This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for gloves and wiring gloves intended for use by workers exposed to high-tension electrical voltage. This standard and does not make reference to other glove standards, such as EN 420 (general requirements), EN 388 (mechanical risks), or EN 374 (chemical risks).

Gloves that are manufactured and certified according to EN standard 60903 are the only gloves that should be used when there is a risk of electrical shock. To help determine which gloves provide the best protection, it is important to know gloves’ capacities relative to different voltage levels.

To limit the effects of wear and tear (e.g., contact with sharp cables), specially designed protective gloves can and should be worn over electrical insulating gloves.
