CAT'ADVANCED WELD Molds for T-connections
CATU CAT'ADVANCED WELD - CEW-T Exothermic Weld
A T-mold is a specialized graphite mold used in exothermic welding to create a permanent electrical connection in the shape of a “T” joint. It is designed to bond a branch conductor perpendicularly to a main conductor, forming a strong and highly conductive joint.
Standards compliancy:
- IEEE 837 - UL 467
Key features and functions
- Material: Made from high-quality, heat-resistant graphite, ensuring repeated use under extreme temperatures generated during the exothermic reaction.
- Joint Type: Produces a T-shaped connection, typically used when tapping a secondary cable, earthing conductor, or grounding rod off a main line.
- Precision Fit: The mold cavity is engineered to hold conductors in exact alignment, ensuring consistent weld quality.
- Reusable: With proper care and maintenance, a T-mold can be used for multiple welds before needing replacement.
- Application: Common in grounding, lightning protection, and bonding systems, especially where durability and low-resistance connections are critical.
Advantages of T-Mold Connections
- Provides a molecular bond that will not loosen or corrode over time.
- Maintains excellent conductivity with virtually no increase in resistance.
- Offers a mechanically strong and long-lasting joint compared to mechanical connectors or clamps.
- Complies with international standards for earthing and bonding systems.
